Where to go to learn about electric bikes and scooters in 2004?
There are a variety of events, trade fairs and seminars. We recommend going to all of them – as we usually do.
At the Taipei Cycle Show this year there will be a Seminar series on electric bicycles – details will follow as soon as we have them.
In this edition of the newsletter, we list CycleElectric's choices for 2004. The entire offering from Infowebcom is listed – these events and publications are not all focused on electric vehicles – but the ones that are are very useful.

1. IFMA – This is primarily a bicycle show, but for 10 years the non profit Extra Energy e.V. has operated a test it event that has attracted most of the best electric bike and scooter makers. In 2004 the event will be in Cologne Germany, at the Koln Messe halls, September 16-19. http://www.ifma-cologne.de

2. Taipei Cycle Show – again primarily a bicycle show. But with seminars on electric vehicles, and heavy attendance by electric bike and scooter makers. March 10-13 in Taipei, Taiwan. http://www.taipeitradeshows.com.tw/cycle

3. International China Bicycle Show is the main event for the hundreds of Chinese electric bicycle companies. April 14-16 in Pudong China. (Shanghai) http://www.e-chinacycle.com

4. Japan International Cycle Show is the place to see the Japanese electric bike product – lots of innovation comes out of Japan. Tokyo Big Sight November 19-21. 81-3-3833-6036 http://www.cyclepress.co.jp

5. InterBike is the USA bicycle show. Best place to see electric bicycles, but not scooters. October 6-8 Sands Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. 1-949-376-6161 http://www.interbike.com/interbike

6. EVS is the world wide electric vehicle show that concentrates on large vehicles and new technology. Some new ideas for electric bikes and scooters emerge here. http://evs21.org Monaco, April 2-6, 2005.

7. SuperShow is primarily a sporting goods event. But the best place for small electric scooters in the USA. January 12-14 Orlando Florida. http://www.sgma.com/thesupershow

8. North China Int’l Cycle Show showcases product from Northern China. This is in contrast to the Shanghai show which focuses primarily on Shanghai area businesses. March 26-28, 2004 in Tainjin, China. (info coming)

9. China (Shanghai) International Green Vehicles Expo focuses on electric bikes and scooters. Best place for small scooter makers. June 26-28 in Shanghai, China. (info coming)

10. EICMA focuses primarily on the Italian market. Some electric bike and scooter makers. September 17-20. Milano Fiero, Milan, Italy. http://www.eicma.it/it
