Here are our favorite sources of information on the Electric Bicycle and Scooter Industry:

1. Electric Bicycles World Wide by Frank Jamerson. This book is the best overall look at the industry. Jamerson also examines the NEV market, and other small electric vehicles. Contact elecbike@aol.com for pricing. (Currently Frank is offering the book at much reduced prices, if you have found it expensive in the past, contact him again.) This book should be the starting point for any business plan or research project.

2. All About Pedelecs, Electric Bicycle Japan and Others by Tokyo Cyclepress. This book is reasonably priced, focuses primarily upon Japanese and Taiwanese product, and is primarily in Japanese language. There is a substantial part of the book translated into English, and there is attention given to Chinese, European and USA product and markets. Contact info@cyclepress.co.jp

3. CyclePress Trade Newspaper covers electric bike issues for Asia very well. info@cyclepress.com.jp

4. Bike Europe Trade Newspaper covers electric bike and motor cycle issues for Europe and world wide. Manon.van.reeden@reedbusiness.nl

5. Electric Bikes Parts and Accessories is published by Trade Winds out of Taiwan. A very good information resource for Taiwanese suppliers of components. www.bicycleb2b.com

7. Custom Reports from CycleElectric CycleElectric has done a LOT of research into the electric bicycle and scooter business. Your needs may be covered by one of many reports that are in stock or can be created quickly. CEI has information resources and correspondents in Germany, Italy, USA, Japan, Hong Kong, UK, France, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Zhejiang, Beijing, Nanjing, and more.

8. www.extraenergy.org This German non profit is the leader in EU focused information on electric bikes. Testing and expertise that leads the industry since the mid 90's. In German and English.

9. www.electric-bikes.com This website is a gem of information maintained by Rob Means.

10. http://energy.sourceguides.com This is an awesome resource for electric vehicle business.

11. www.evworld.com Another awesome resource focused on larger vehicles, but with information for the light electric vehicle industry as well.

12. James Harrop's books on the electric vehicle industry are invaluable. He has written several. His insight and analysis are of major important to business plan writers, and they are kept updated. Contact him for information pjh@isiselec.demon.co.uk

13. Ask! Ed Benjamin of CycleElectric will respond to any and all email messages asking questions. It may take a while, but you will get a response.
